The purpose of this blog is to put all my research related content in one place. I am an engineer by profession, originally an electronics engineer later switched to software development and now working full time solving unsolved problems in science. Currently, I am researching the open problem of the origin and dispersal of megalithic dolmens across the world. This is an interesting problem because even today, long after formal archaeological studies began on the subjects of megaliths, we have not reached a consensus on the purpose and apparent spread of these prehistoric structures. I am particularly interested in and good at spatial analysis. So I have been using google maps to analyze the orientation of dolmens across the world. Which eventually revealed many interesting findings, which I think is worth publishing at some point. So I am focusing on formal reading of academic papers and come up with my own thesis.
The second problem I was working on earlier, but parked for now until the dolmen problem is solved. To give some clue as to why I am interested in solving this problem, let me say it is the biggest problem in Physics for last century. The problem I am talking about is the quantum gravity problem. That is, how to consolidate General Relativity theory pioneered by Albert Einstein with Quantum Physics, which Einstein himself laid the foundation of, later developed by Max Plank, Niels Bohr, Irvin Schrödinger, Werner Heisenberg, Louis de Broglie, Paul Dirac and Richard Feynman. While general relativity works with gravitational force and large scale objects, quantum mechanics works with objects of sizes invisible to eyes. While three of the four fundamental forces other than gravity are shown to be consolidated with modern frameworks based on quantum mechanics, the standard models of particles, gravity refuse to be consolidated with other four forces, resulting in both these theories at odds with each other hinting that either or both of these theories being incomplete. Thus solving this problem is a fundamental problem in Physics. Also I believe the impact of such a unified theory may have the potential to solve important real world issues like fossil fuel dependency, poverty, global warming, space travel etc. as the new theory will shed light in to the fundamental nature of reality itself.
I will write updates about these in this blog time to time. So please stay tuned.
My personal website is anandmallaya.com, where I will be putting other content like the updates on the books I plan to publish, other work etc. You can check them at books
